This page explains what personal information Kite Travels collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Trips: booking and custom trip requests, including dates, number of travellers and any notes you add.
- Content you post: reviews, journals and photos. Photos are re-saved when uploaded, which removes hidden data such as GPS location.
- Messages: what you send through the contact form, and your email if you join the newsletter.
How we use it
- To run your account and handle your bookings and quotes.
- To email you about your account and trips (verification codes, booking updates, quotes).
- To send the newsletter, only if you signed up for it.
- To keep the site secure, for example by limiting repeated login attempts.
Who we share it with
- Hotels, transport and guides who need your details to provide the trip you booked.
- Service providers that help us run the site, such as our email provider and WhatsApp Business (Meta) for booking notifications.
- We don't sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The site also stores images and page files in your browser so it loads faster on your next visit.
Your choices
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it.
- You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
- Reviews and journals you post are public once approved; ask us if you want one removed.
How long we keep it
We keep account and trip information while your account is open and for as long as we need it for legal and accounting reasons afterwards.
